‘We need to support the victims first’

Against backdrop of Vatican summit, Alberta's bishops say the horrors of clergy sex abuse can't be kept in the dark

As Pope Francis leads an historic summit on child protection and the abuse crisis in the Catholic Church from Feb. 21-24 at the Vatican, Alberta’s bishops talk about the issues, the actions they have taken, the lessons learned, how they answer difficult questions and how the healing begins.

The meeting was hosted by Grandin Media as part of its Bishops’ Roundtable series, which is a discussion about the biggest challenges they feel they are facing in their dioceses.
